The King County prosecutor’s office will not pursue domestic disturbance allegations levied against former Seattle Seahawk Leroy Hill according to Dan Donohoe, a spokesperson for the King County prosecutor’s office.

Hill was arrested by the Issaquah police on domestic violence offenses of unlawful imprisonment and third degree assault in January. The incident was Hill’s fourth run-in with the law since 2009.

Donohoe said Hill’s case has been declined as insufficient in terms of a felony. However, the 30-year-old, former Seahawks linebacker is not out of the woods yet. His case was referred to Issaquah municipal court to determine if he will face misdemeanor charges.

“We’ve completed our review, and determined that we won’t be able to file a felony, so the case is being declined,” Donohoe said. “However, it’s being sent to Issaquah municipal court, and they will decide whether a misdemeanor will be considered.”

Lynn Moberly, who serves as the prosecutor for the City of Issaquah, will once again determine if Hill will face charges in Issaquah municipal court.

Hill also was arrested in April 2010 at his home in Issaquah on a misdemeanor count of fourth degree assault/domestic violence for an incident involving his live-in girlfriend at the time.

Hill avoided trial and a settlement was reached in the domestic dispute in August 2010, with charges dismissed if he complied with stipulations handed down by the Issaquah Municipal Court.

Those stipulations included completing a one-year state-certified domestic violence treatment program, 26 weeks of weekly therapy and counseling, followed by monthly sessions for six months.

Hill also had to do 25 hours of community service, and could not have any other criminal law violations or possess a weapon for an 18-month period.

  1. I must have missed the allegations part. What was it that LeRoy was sposta have done?

  2. Dukeshire says:

    Read the second paragraph.

Hill avoiding felony charges I a breath of fresh air after the absolute nonsense taking place in the previous one.

  3. ryanryan says:

wonder who’ll sign him. i think he’s better than what seattle has at his position.

  4. bbnate420 says:

I wouldn’t mind bringing him back. Looks like reserving judgement and waiting for facts seems to be winning again. We’ll see if he gets charged with a misdemeanor.

  5. jawpeace says:

Hill seems to shoot himself in the foot every time he is to be a free agent, it is something involving the law that scared off other teams and his $$$ goes out the window faster than smoke.

  6. bbnate420 says:

Hill certainly has done that, but I’m not sure he was getting anything more than a vet minimum contract even without this. We’ll see if he can get any contract at all now.

  7. Sekolah says:

I’d just assume Leroy Hill moves on and latches on with another NFL team. It’s not a matter of his legal issues, but more so his performance on the field. He’s lost a significant step to his game, and honestly it’s about Malcom these days, and the other youngins competing against him.

That Pete and John did nothing during the draft to address OLB when they had ample opportunity to do so speaks volumes to me in terms of what they think about this team’s situation at that spot. Between Pete and Norton jr. they’ve coached up some quality LB’s, and it looks to me like they’re in the process of molding guys like Bradford, Toomer, and Knox.

  8. raymaines says:

For the official record: I have no comment.

It just kind of seems to me that a guy the beats and enslaves his girlfriend shouldn’t walk free, but hey, he’s a talented NFL player and so what the hell….

  9. bbnate420 says:

raymaines, it seems you did have a comment. And in America and the rest of the modern world, you have to be proven guilty in a court of law before you can be jailed. Unless the president wants to declare you an enemy combatant that is.

  10. HawkFromDay1 says:

Ha! That’s the most detailed and opinionated “no comment” ever! By the way: where is the “official record” of the Tacoma News Tribune Seahawks Blog located? Probably the National Archives, between the Magna Carta and the Declaration of Independence

Just hoping Leroy is through the woods on this stuff – wouldn’t wish this stuff on anyone – and hope he’s prepared to make some better choices in the future.

  11. bbnate420 says:

    Amen, HawkFromDay1.

  12. TruBlu says:

I wonder if he Tebowed when he got the news?

  13. klm008 says:

Actually, PFF ranked Hill as the best 4-3 OLB at coverage last season. What is 3rd degree assault, speaking harshly?

  14. Dukeshire says:

    He smacker her around.

  15. Where did you hear that? That’s what I was asking at the top here.
