Klete takes home the top prize in our fifth annual Seahawks Insider mock draft competition.

We had four contests correctly predict two of the 11 players the Seattle Seahawks selected in this year’s draft:

Klete: Jordan Hill (3rd) and Tharold Simon (5th)
Paulsj: Christine Michael (3rd) and Ty Powell (5th)
HonHawksLSB: Jessie Williams (2nd) and Christine Michael (6th)
CDN_C_Hawk: Christine Michael (4th) and Chris Harper (5th).

Of those four, Klete was the only contestant to predict the right player being drafted in the right round.

We had an impressive five players predicted by our 52 contestants to be drafted by Seattle – Jordan Hill (1), Jesse Williams (4), Christine Michael (3), Tharold Simon (4) and Chris Harper (4).

Check out the final results here: Mock draft competition. Congrats to Klete. Email me at eric.williams@thenewstribune.com and I will send you the prize package. And thanks to everyone who participated this year.

  1. “I will send you the price package …”

Ah, the price of being a winner

  2. Southendzone says:

Can you let us all know what the prize package was so we can decide if it’s worth it to try harder next year?

  3. I didn’t send one in and I got none right per round but I thought they would get Williams in the 2nd round – the first time I have actually picked one right – hence the reason I didn’t submit!

  4. Southendzone: The motivation of winning the Seahawks Insider mock draft so you can talk smack for the rest of the year is not enough? Usually we send the winner a draft hat for this year and whatever Hawks’ swag we can scrounge up from the office.

  5. Dukeshire says:

Two right in this years draft is pretty damn impressive.

  6. doubledink says:

    Eric,
Have you considered a First Round Mock competition for the first 32 picks? I’ll share what I have developed so far if you are interested.

  7. HawkFromDay1 says:

Man, feeling good that I even got 1!

Out of 520 total guesses, we collectively got 20 right?!?! Rough performance fellas… rough…

Of course if I had to rank most unpredictable draft teams – we’d be in the top 5.

Well done on the guys who said “Ya know, what the heck, Christine Michael” – great pick boys.

  8. I am in awe of those who picked Michael, hill, and/or simon. Someone actually guessed Harper?! I’m a wr nut and I had no clue….

I’m just relieved that I got Williams right, though I had him in the second…at least I wasn’t skunked!

    Way to go klete!

  9. Southendzone says:

Ok OK, talking smack for a year is good enough.

Does the mean Yakinta won the contest last year?

Sorry for the cheap shot, I couldn’t resist.

  10. CDN_C_Hawk says:

Congrats Kiete, and WTG Paulsj , HonHawksLSB, Nicely done.

I had Williams in the 4th, but after seeing Stefan Charles was here for a visit, and Williams would have been gone by then, I changed. Go with the instincts , as they say.

Well done to everyone, Shows some, are getting a better idea how the brilliant minds of PC/JS think.

  11. Go Hawk!!!! In my Jim Harbaugh voice lol

  12. HonHawksLSB says:

    Congrats Klete!

Eric if I email you 1st can I get the prize 1b prize? Rumor has it runner up gets a U Mad Bro framed picture.

  13. hawkfaninoklahoma says:

    Congrats Klete!

  14. montanamike2 says:

    Congrads!

  15. paulsj says:

    WTG Klete! And everyone.

Eric, we actually had an impressive 6 players chosen by the 52 contestants if you include Powell.

    Cheers! Go Hawks!

  16. Whoah, it actually gave me the option to sign in this time. Congrats Klete. Thanks for the link to the UDFA Ayo Idowu, sure sounds like a nice story. That kid sounds pretty hungry and driven, I wish him well. That defensive line competition is going to be fierce.

We sure are shaking that Minnesota/Wisconsin football tree, these last few years. Turns out to be a pretty fruitful endeavor.

  17. confucious says:

    Thanks Sandpoint. Good story.

  18. bbnate420 says:

Congrats, Klete. Impressive that you got the rounds correct too.

I just picked Simon because he is someone I thought would be available in the 5th and he has the size and attitude that the Hawks like in a corner.

Sound, when I won last year, I got 2 hats, a little 12th man flag, a button, some beads, and some other small swag that I’m forgetting. Certainly better than a kick in the pants. Probably pointless to invest a lot of time. Any of us would likely do just as well throwing at a dart board.
