The Seahawks – and the rest of the NFL for that matter – released their 2013 preseason schedule today.

The Seahawks open at San Diego (game to be played Aug. 8-11, exact dates to be released later). In Week 2, they host the Denver Broncos (Aug. 15-19).

Week 3 is a game that will be televised nationally and one that will get a lot of attention – the Packers in Green Bay. I’m sure they’ll be a few cheeseheads who haven’t forgotten the catch/non-catch call from last season. That game is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Aug. 23.

And, the Seahawks will end the preseason at home against the Oakland Raiders and the just traded Matt Flynn.

Other tidbits:

• The NFL’s slate of 11 nationally televised preseason games will feature the entire 2012 playoff field, one of the highlights of the 65-game 2013 NFL preseason schedule.

• The 2013 preseason will kick off on Sunday, Aug. 4 (NBC, 5 p.m.) in Canton, Ohio, when the Dallas Cowboys face the Miami Dolphins in the Hall of Fame Game.

Looking forward to each and every one of these games.

  2. boucherm says:

I know this may seem like a small complaint, but Seahawks season ticket holders keep getting screwed by preaseason scheduling. We’ve been on the road for week 3 and home for week 4 for like 5 of the last 6 years. Having weeks 1 and 3 at home is sooooo much more interesting, and it doesn’t hurt quite as much to pay a full ticket price for those games.

  3. The Green Bay game will, of course, make reference after reference to the Golden Tate interception / TD vs. Green Bay last season, Yech.

  4. seahawksteven777 says:

I think the Packers fan should just suck it up and move on already. Bunch of sore losers if you ask me. I hope we beat them by 30. That ought to quiet them down.

  5. KJRmiles says:

Any Packers fans who are still hung up on that game need to get over it. The Hawks have gotten ripped off in far more horrifying scenarios; once against the Jets in the Playoffs, and once in the S-u-p-e-r Bowl. Sorry Packers, your heartbreak can’t compare to ours. It was one regular season game; get over it.

Besides, it was clearly a catch. :P

  6. GeorgiaHawk says:

Dallas and Miami in the hall of fame game? Are they expecting Aikman and Marino to play? Lol.

  7. bird_spit says:

Would love to represent up in WI. I’d bring the fryer for some deep fried cheese sticks togo with the walleye sandwich. Any way, that will truly be meaningless, and annoying to watch on TV. Maybe Portis will have a break out game and solidify #2.

Anyway, rewatched the Jets game at lunch time. Good to watch, but man what a bad bad 1st Q. That is also the game that Golden Tate throws the left-handed touchdown to Rice. (classic)

  8. GeorgiaHawk says:

Give the kid more reps and see what he can do. He will benefit much having Wilson as a mentor. I have no problem also if they bring in a vet for insurance.
It will be fun to watch how the backup position unfolds this year.

  9. SeahawkFan12 says:

Just might be back in San Diego in time to catch that one live!

  10. GeorgiaHawk says:

When does the regular season schedule come out?

  11. No apologist here for GB, but I remember how furious I was when Steeler fans suggested we ‘suck it up’ after SB XL. They should be unhappy with the tough loss, both Seattle and Green Bay fans should be unhappy with the officiating throughout the game, but that’s no reason to take it out on each other. Hawks won, we should take the high road and let it drop. If GB fans or the media want to go on about it, let them, it won’t change the score.

  12. Can’t wait!!!

  13. tylerwyler says:

I still know a few GB fans that are pretty sore losers… One friend of mine loses his mind when I tell him “that’s why every coach on every level says to knock the ball down!” If MD Jennings plays smart, the refs don’t have to make a judgement call.

  14. Mr Beene: Are you saying that that many games are only gonna be seen on NFL Network?

  15. I think the Seattle/GB games was supposed to be on CBS for Pre-season national coverage, I may be wrong

Can hardly help myself: Vernon Davis getting Kam-Shafted…in slo-mo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78qF72JwJwA

  17. HonHawksLSB says:

Thank you for that SHawk12!! I think the only penalties that should be reviewed are helmet contact personal fouls. If the helmet was not touched pick up the flag.

  18. Singularitarian says:

It would be fun to do a Seahawks draft pick contest. I don’t know if TNT does this already… like maybe each person submit a list. Pick 3 players for every draft pick and then maybe you get 10 points if the first name is drafted that round, 5 for the second and 3 for the third. Maybe you get 5 points if your first pick from one round gets picked in another round, and 2 if the either of the other 2 get picked in another round. Most points wins. Just for braggin rights

  19. Singularitarian says:

Also would bve fun do do a bloggers fantasy league for those dorky enough

  20. Singularitarian says:

    *be fun to do*

  21. Singularitarian says:

Let me know I’ll set up either

  22. Eric does a draft contest- which I suck at every year – but I try!! :)

  23. I would o a readers FFL if we did something an not too many teams!

  24. Singularitarian says:

XCman too many teams can be fun. I love trying to scrape the pots together to find someone who you can use rather than choosing between Andre Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald

  25. No thanks. Been there hated it.

  26. 2X BCS Champion
    Sophmore Hiesman
All time SEC passer efficiently and rushing TDs (Overal and season)
Lead a 1-4 broncos team into the playoffs after replacing Kyle Orton.
the highest ever QB rating in team history for a professional debut.
His 125.6 rating (Highest ever for a denver QB playoff start) and 31.6 ypc are the highest for any playoff QB.

If these are the stats of the worst QB in the league I’ll be damned.
    TD–INT 17–9
    Passing yards 2,422
    Passer rating 75.3
    Rushing yards 989
    Rushing TDs 12
5 come from behing wins in his first season

With the exception of rushing TD’s it looks like a average year for Hasslebeck. The stats, and people who have won SB like Dungy, and Chucky ( Still love the guy for speaking up RW) don’t support the claim he’s awful, and certainly not the worst QB ever. At a certain point you have to wonder if it’s something else people don’t like.
I was complaining about Flynn’s weak arm, work ethic and horribly akward motion last year. I was told those attributes are overrated

  27. GeorgiaHawk says:

Pete Carroll Picks 3 Players He’d Want With Him On Deserted Island.

Any guess who those three players are? And Why?

  28. GeorgiaHawk says:

Good grief Baxter, get some facts straight before you write a Seahawks article.

  29. yankinta says:

Only 10 days to wait until the NFL Schedule gets release!!!

I think/hope we will get at least 5 PRIME TIME GAMES FOR SURE….

    FOR SURE :
@ Colts (Russell Wilson vs. Andrew Luck)
    @ ATL (Rematch)
    @ 49ers (Top 2 teams in the NFC/NFL)
vs 49ers (Top 2 teams in the NFC/NFL)
@ Texans (Top 5 teams in the NFL)

    Maybe :
    @ NY Giants (??)
vs. Saints (Rematch of the playoff game 2 years ago??)
vs. Vikings (PH versus old team)
    vs. Rams (maybe??)
