  1. that means Hauschka is officially out through the super bowl, right? was the injury more severe than we initially thought?

  2. thursday says:

yeah I’d really like to know what exactly happened to Hausch

  3. pabuwal says:

Eric – who will handle kickoffs – Jon Ryan or Longwell?

  4. I am guessing, but I suspect Longwell will handle kick-offs.

Eric is this the list of guys who were brought in
Aaron Maybin, Ray Edwards and Travis LaBoy & Patrick Chukwurah..

  6. One thing i have noticed with this FO is that they do anything possible to make this team better. Going back to when Obo got hurt, it was speculated that he was just a little dinged up. Then you hear that they IR’d him. You could tell Obo wasn’t being very productive on offense and so instead of waiting for him, they opened up a roster spot. Not saying that Hauschka is not producing, but they are taking any angle to make this team better. And i love that about this FO. They really dont care about personal feelings, they run this like a business, to make it the best possible. That is why i believe Hauschka is now on IR. They have a kicker they feel confident with and because of that, there is no reason to carry 2 of them. Next man up!

  7. rramstad says:

Yeah, it sucks for Hauschka, but conversely, pretty clear they didn’t want to let anyone else off the 53 and carry two kickers. (Brandon Coutu, anyone? Carrying two kickers that season was excruciating…)

  8. seatowntp says:

Did Hauschka originally injure his leg in the second game against the 9ers? If I recall correctly, he was a little gimpy after one of the kickoffs.

  9. Newborough says:

Yeah, I also remember seeing him limping at the end of the niners game, sp maybe kicking on the ‘turf’ at FedEx Field just made a pre-existing condition worse. He’s never appeared on any injury report before the game however.
