ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman’s appeal of a four-game suspension for alleged use of amphetamines is scheduled for Dec. 14, which means he will be eligible to play in Sunday’s game against Arizona.

According to Schefter, cornerback Brandon Browner has not scheduled his appeal.

Which means if he doesn’t win, his suspension will run into the playoffs.

I’m hoping Sherman only gets 2wks. Browner has priors in Canada. I’m thinking he gets 4.
IMO, we should play the bears every year at Soldier feild.
Outside of “the playoff game that killed John Carlson” This team has won the last 2 outa 3! I’ll take it.

I wonder if they’re trying to stagger the appeals, so both aren’t gone at the same time.

I don’t see another case where the time is negotiable, its either 0 games or 4 games for the 1st offence.

Also, I don’t think its up to the player to decide on when the appeals is scheduled, maybe they can wiggle a day or two, but I don’t think the players/teams have a choice. I would expect both to be off roughly at the same time if their positive results and scheduled appeals happen around the same time.

Since the Card’s QB situation is what it is, I would rather take our chance and sit (drop appeal, as very very few win) both BB and RS this week even though Fitz will be on the field.

CDHawkFan, there’s been some conjecture and confusion about Sherman and allegedly him being up for a 4 week suspension. No one knew that he was even in the program, there’s been no confirmation of any earlier suspension, and typically the first suspension for PED is only one week (e.g. Winston Guy). Personally I’m hoping that the 4 week thing is confusion — it’s actually Browner that’s up for 4 weeks as we know he’s been in the program — and Sherman has been appealing in order to get the one game suspension to line up with the Bills game, it’s AFC and on the road, so presumably in some ways less important, also they don’t have nearly as scary of a receiver group as some other teams do.

Just a (hopefully correct) wild guess.

This sucks. I mean I don’t know what the % rate of players winning appeals, but I know it’s not good at all. Assuming they lose, this really cripples our playoff hopes, if they make it. Guess we’ll have to let the process play out before we speculate too much.
