The NFL announced the regular season schedule this afternoon, which you can view here.
For a second straight season the Seattle Seahawks received a nationally televised, regular season game.
New Seattle quarterback Matt Flynn will get a chance to play his old team, the Green Bay Packers, on Monday Night Football at CenturyLink Field on Sept. 24.
The Seahawks also have a Thursday night road game at San Francisco on the NFL Network on Oct. 18, and an international matchup as Seattle takes on Buffalo in Toronto, Canada on Dec. 16, the club’s first regular season game outside the United States.
The Seahawks had no scheduled nationally televised games in 2009 and 2010, and just two in 2008, Mike Holmgren’s last as head coach in Seattle – a Thanksgiving Day game in Dallas and a Sunday night tilt in Tampa.
The Seahawks regular season finale of the 2010 season against St. Louis was flexed into the schedule for a national audience on NBC with the NFC West title on the line, a game Seattle won 16-6.
The Seahawks open the season on Sept. 9 at Arizona, host Dallas on Sept. 16 and Green bay the following week before travelling to St. Louis on Sept. 30.
Seattle then heads to Carolina on Oct. 7 before hosting the New England on Oct. 14, with a quick turnaround to Thursday night’s tilt at San Francisco on Oct. 18.
The Seahawks finish off the string of four of five games on the road with a date at Detroit on Oct. 28.
Seattle hosts the Vikings on Nov. 4 and the N.Y. Jets on Veterans’ Day, Nov. 11 before its Week 11 bye — the latest in-season bye week for the Seahawks since the 2000 season.
Seattle returns from the bye week for its longest road trip of the season, traveling to Miami for a Nov. 25 game, and then heading to Chicago for the second consecutive year and a Dec. 2 contest.
The Seahawks then complete the season with a Dec. 9 game at home vs. Arizona, a Dec. 16 game on the road in Toronto against Buffalo, and then two home games against NFC West rivals San Francisco on Dec. 23 and St. Louis on Dec. 30.
The league kicks off the 2012 season with the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants hosting NFC East rival Dallas on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at MetLife Stadium.
