Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, later confirmed by the league’s web site, is reporting that players are expected to announce they have agreed to the owners’ ratified CBA proposal this morning.

According to report, team facilities could open as early as Tuesday and training camps for some teams could begin as early as Thursday.

Players are expected to announce the deal at a press conference at 8 a.m. Pacific time.

So, if true, this is great news. We can finally begin to put the lockout behind us and begin focusing on training camp and the regular season.

Peter King of Sports Illustrated has the contract details here, which include the possibility of an 18-game regular season in 2013.

Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune talks about quarterback Tarvaris Jackson and the possibility of the Minnesota free agent quarterback coming to Seattle with ESPN’s John Clayton.

An interesting Q & A with Seahawks offensive lineman Breno Giacomini.

Steve Kelly of the Seattle Times talks to former Seahawks head coach Jim Mora about his trip to Iraq visiting U.S. troops. Mora described the trip as humbling.

Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times is having a really, really hard time believing the Seahawks will not even offer Matt Hasselbeck a contract once free agency begins.

Brian Billick of Fox Sports reviews the top free agent wide receivers available.

  1. GeorgiaHawk says:

Deal at hand! This is going to be a fun week! Can’t wait for this to roll.

I would be disappointed if they did not bring Hasselbeck back, however I am happy for him that he has leverage and good options out there.
If the Seahawks want to keep him then get him a #1 reciever.

  2. Where’s Duke? Thought for sure he would be first on here! Hope we bring back Hasselbeck back as well but, I don’t see them signing any receivers unless Bevell convinces them to make a run at Rice. Great news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. chrisj122 says:

ARE Y’ALL READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?

    YES, YES, YES!!!

    Rhetorical Question, no reply necissary.

  4. chrisj122 says:

ooops, “necessary”. I got so excited I forgot how to spell.

  5. SeahawkFan12 says:

NICE! Let’s get this done and get back to football!

  6. NFL Network has the Hawks on the list to start training camp Wed.

  7. Dukeshire says:

Oh, I’m right here! Just waiting for the doors to actually open. He’ll yes!

  8. Well alright – I knew they’d figure it out eventually (too much $ for both on the table), but glad we can all start talking football again.

Re Tavaris Jackson — – where/when did this rumor get started? Has anyone from Seattle actually talked to the guy? Don’t we already have a 28 y.o, project QB? I have zero interest in him.

Bring back Hass – draft our next QB next year.

  9. SandpointHawk says:

pdway~ it’s all over the net. Last week Jackson said he won’t mind playing in Seattle, Clayton might have started it, if not he’s sure passing it along a lot.. and Sando added his two cents this morning…

  10. GeorgiaHawk says:

I can’t wait for the master multitasker to do his thing. Could be an advantage over the other teams.
I can just see it now, Carroll and Schneider working circles around their competition!
Another selling point would be that if a player chooses Seattle then they don’t have to practice in the heat wave that is gripping much of the nation.

  11. It’s officially OVER! All NFL teams can now start talking to Free Agents. Signings begin tomorrow, Tuesday.

  12. Dukeshire says:

Camp does indeed open Wednesday for the Hawks(along with Den, Ne, Dall, JAX, Balt, SD, Oak, Phil and Ariz) Now we’re getting somewhere! Oh, so happy…

  13. Soggybuc says:

WOOHOO!, last details are an all player vote which only needs 951 or so yes votes.
wednesday cant get here fast enough.

  14. Nobody can report to camp without a contract.

The Hawks have 34 signed for 2011 and 8 Futures signed.

The Seahawk transactions should be almost non-stop tomorrow!

  15. Dukeshire says:

Doors are open for contracted players now! Eric, get your ass up to VMAC! STAT!!

  16. GeorgiaHawk says:

I would love to be a fly on the wall at Seahawk headquarters tomorrow!

  17. Today is for celebration. Later this week will be the time to start being concerned about the likelihood that the team won’t be very good.

Here’s hoping that PC & JS spend that $39 min very wisely!

  18. chuck_easton says:

    OK,

Now for the BIG problem. I only own two Seahawk Jerseys.

    1) Curt Warner #28 (but it’s the old mesh style and I can’t bring myself to wear it at 47 years of age…I’m not muscle beach material like I was in my 20′s).

    2) Hasselbeck #8 new BLUE. I’m afraid that one is going to be obsolete in the next few days.

I’m still ok with the Seahawks sweatshirt, longsleeve shirt and t-shirt since they are just team colors and logo.

    Any suggestions?

  19. It will be interesting to see how the free agent frenzy happens, because it won’t trickle like in years past, it will be like the flood gates opening. Fast & Furious. I wonder how much patience the average fan will have with Carrolls plan to build a power running team that is tough on defense, which he is definitely doing. With a young inexperienced offensive line, the next QB will be a placeholder until next years draft. My question, I guess, coming off an improbable playoff run last year, is it too much of a let down if the team only wins 5-7 games, but the rebuilding is evident as Pete & the boys change the team for (hopefully) a long dominance of the NFC West?

  20. GeorgiaHawk says:

chuck- I have a few Alexander shirts you can have.

“And now we shall have a moment of silence for the hardship that is about to begin on one of our most beloved players. A player that feels blessed to have a lockout. A player that feels blessed to not earn his money. A player that would make a good poster child for all that was wrong with the old way of how rookie contracts were done.”

  21. GeorgiaHawk says:

rodman- I can see 5-7 wins, especially if they don’t bring back some key players. And the schedule is overall stronger then last year.
However we are still in a weak division and (imo) that plus our special teams and the 12th man could get us over that hump. I still believe that 6-10 could be good enough to win the NFC west again. No waiting for winning! Not in this division.

  22. chuck_easton says:

    GeorgiaHawk,

Let’s not talk about the man with the AC initials that way. Hey, it’s not his fault that ‘a guys gotta get paid’ and ‘they are not using him right’.

And I wouldn’t be suprised if the team doesn’t try to restructure his contract. Of course he’ll refuse and dare them to cut him. But I expect nothing less from AC.

  23. Dukeshire says:

Chuck- For the sake of practicality, ought to wait on a jersey until next season when Nike takes over and they go back to their original colors, or something close to it. Of course this is a classic do as I say situation as I will be ordering a jersey next week now that the lockout is over. Lol

  24. SandpointHawk says:

Gee Duke do you have some inside info from Nike for us or is that just an educated guess?

  25. Chuck – Your Hassebeck blue #8 will NEVER be obsolete! That’s the one and only Seahawks QB jersey ever worn in a super bowl. Wear it with pride. Whatever happens.

  26. FOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTBALLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yay

  27. MattandCindy says:

Sandpoint- It was a few months ago, I think, when they announced that Nike was taking over the NFL apparel stuff next season. Try googling Nike NFL uniforms 2012 and you’ll find a few renderings of what the uni’s might look like. If they look anything like what I’ve seen, then you should ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY wait for next season (Awesome!!)

  28. Dukeshire says:

Those are fan “renderings”. Not at all what Nike is actually working on. Nothing is settled of course but scuttle but is that they’ve been working with different color swatches resembling the old blue. If I hear anything concrete I’ll pass it along.

  29. SeahawkFan12 says:

Chuck, don’t lose hope in Hasselbeck returning, just yet anyway. And when in doubt, get the high-end game-quality home jersey with #12 and your last name on it. The 12th Man never gets traded nor signs with another team, and never EVER retires.

  30. SandpointHawk says:

MattandCindy~ if you go back and find the link I believe you will see I was the linker. I also linked the Nike helmet design first. Since Dukeman works for Nike I’m always hoping he can get inside info to his brother insiders….It’s all good lets play ball…
