This is the Seahawks’ release:

The Seattle Seahawks have signed tackle Kyle Williams to the active roster from the practice squad. Williams is a second-year player from USC, acquired by the Seahawks as a free agent in 2007.

In order to make room on the roster for Williams, the Seahawks released tight end Jeb Putzier, who joined the Seahawks as an unrestricted free agent from Houston this off-season. Putzier was active in seven games for the Seahawks this season and had no catches.

Putzier was a big disappointment. I expected him to have a nice year, but he blew his chance in Buffalo and was quickly replaced by JC.

  2. That must suck to get roped around so much….

get cut from an NFL team “aww im sad”
get signed by that team “allright! Here is my comeback”
and then a few days later cut again “down the road not across the street”

should of hung onto those balls in Buffalo

  3. I was expecting a nice year too Spunjdog….disappointing for sure…

I also expected nice seasons from Pollard and Jamie Sharper too.

  4. spunjdog says:

Fortunately this is more like the Sharper year than the Pollard year – Leroy stepped in as an upgrade over Sharper, just as Carlson is doing this year for Jeb. As for Pollard, there was no one but Heller to fall back on, and he managed to be a more productive receiver out of necessity than Jeb was before getting benched.

  5. This is totally off-topic from anything we have been talking about on this blog for weeks, but…

Why do we have to wear those UGLY blue pants all the time?

Our blue pants look like crap with our blue jersies!

Our blue pants look like crap with our white jersies! Although they look better with a white jersey/blue pants (but that’s not saying much).

Get rid of the freaking UGLY blue pants!!!

A 2-9 team is making us suffer bad enough…

  6. …and now tomorrow we’ll probably see the white pants (man, I hope so!!!)…

  7. Go back to the SILVER!!!

  8. Good news is this awful season only has a few weeks left.

Bad news is this is an awful way to say farewell to Holmgren.

  9. PhilKenSebben says:

ugh, I hate the white pants with blue jerseys. Don’t mess with the uniforms, they are perfect and by far the best in the NFL. Though an alternate jersey would be nice.

  10. I’d rather have a silver helmet and silver pants (keep updated logo).

  11. Dukeshire says:

BobbyK, The old uniforms were awesome. The silver helmet was the best in football, by far. The blue jersey with the white pants is lame. Hopefully they’ll go wit all blue, but I doubt it. By the way, happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

  12. Shmolzer says:

I love the New uniforms with the all blue its different from the rest. Although, I think the idea of wearing the old school uniforms as a throwback once of twice a year like the rest of the league would be a good idea.

  13. Frank Hughes says:

Just to give you a sense, I would expect that they re-sign Putzier again next week. They had to make the move because Spencer’s injury leaves them short-handed along the offensive line. Putzier understands and is being a good soldier to help out the team.

  14. OutSydeDog says:

    Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!!

At least they don’t wear lime green pants :) ~

C’mom….c’mon…c’mon…let’s kick some Cowboy butt today.

    GO SEAHAWKS!!!

  15. Dukeshire says:

When they changed uniforms, they petitioned the league to have lime green helmets too. The league said, no (each team can have only one helmet) thank god.

  16. nighthawk2 says:

The uniforms were originally supposed to have white pants with the blue jersey’s, and blue pants with the white jersey’s. I too hate the all blue format, looks like a half-assed college team. Wear the white pants with the blue jersey’s.

  17. bobbyk03 says:

Whenever I see our blue jersey/blue pants — it reminds me of a USFL team (or arena league team).

Part of the Super Bowl experience that was ruined for me was seeing us look like bushleaguers while the Stealers (no spelling error) had classic uniforms. Based on appearance, they deserved to win the game just because they didn’t look like fools in their uniforms.

Maybe that’s what the refs were thinking when they made sure that Pittsburgh “won” the game.

  18. Happy Thanksgiving to all . . .just hoping for a game today, a win would be a nice bonus.

Boy — Detroit is sure consistent, at sucking on Thanksgiving Day. Seems like they’ve been real bad since I was a kid.

  19. Dukeshire says:

The players voted at the time to wear all blue and they have never looked back.
