  1. Cool! Nobody waived that I care about really.

Too bad the neighbor kid didn’t make it. Kirtman.

  2. So Deion Branch is out for the first 6 weeks?

  3. stormshadow says:

    So we kept both kickers??

  4. emitch423 says:

What’s with the Bernard and Babineaux suspensions? Why did they keep both kickers when they were short on WRs?

  5. I’m counting 55 players
    Offense (27)
QB (3) – Matt Hasselbeck, Seneca Wallace, Charlie Frye
HB/FB (6) – Julius Jones, T.J. Duckett, Maurice Morris, Leonard Weaver, Justin Forsett, Owen Schmitt
WR (6) – Deion Branch, Nate Burleson, Bobby Engram, Courtney Taylor, Jordan Kent, Logan Payne
TE (3) – John Carlson, Jeb Putzier, Will Heller
OL (9) – Walter Jones, Sean Locklear, Chris Spencer, Rob Sims, Mike Wahle, Ray Willis, Mansfield Wrotto, Floyd Womack, Steve Vallos

    Defense (24)
DE (5) – Patrick Kerney, Darryl Tapp, Lawrence Jackson, Jason Babin, Baraka Atkins
DT (5) – Rocky Bernard, Brandon Mebane, Red Bryant, Craig Terrill, Howard Green
LB (6) – Lofa Tatupu , Julian Peterson, Leroy Hill, D.D. Lewis, Lance Laury, David Hawthorne
S (4) – Deon Grant, Brian Russell, Jordan Babineaux, C.J. Wallace
CB (4) – Marcus Trufant, Kelly Jennings, Josh Wilson, Kevin Hobbs

    Special Teams (4)
K – Olindo Mare, Brandon Coutu
    P – Ryan Plackemeier
    LS – Jeff Robinson

  6. Hawkfan1951 says:

The practice squad players have to wait until noon tomorrow before they can be signed?

    Go Hawks!!

  7. Dukeshire says:

Crossing my fingers that Bumpus and Adams make it through waivers.

  8. Dukeshire says:

Bernard and Babineaux suspensions: What? Where did you get that? Please inform at earliest.

  9. reshumate says:

Extra K and Atkins/Babin still have to be cut, unless they go elsewhere. Which they can’t, unless it’s at RB. Got to have 4 healthy WRs to start the season. Could cut Frye or a TE, but I doubt it.

  10. IDHawkman says:

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I agree with Billy Watson, there are only 20 names there. We need to get rid of 22. So what gives with the list?

  11. reshumate says:

Babs had a substance abuse thing which obviously no one knew about. Bernard had the domestic abuse thing last year.

  12. BrianHawk says:

Yes, I’m confused that neither Mare nor Coutu are on the cut list. Did we trade one?

  13. They might only cut 1 more player if Branch stays on the PUP list.

  14. Dukeshire says:

reshumate: Thanks, just read that on Sando. Did the team know (they must have) Bernard would miss a game?

  15. Does the Bernard and Babineaux suspensions mean they can keep 2 addional players on the roster until after the Buffalo game?

  16. At least we know Frank can cut and paste from the PI website.

  17. The 2 kickers doesn’t make sense.

  18. RichmondHawk says:

“At least we know Frank can cut and paste from the PI website.”

I was thinking the same thing but maybe both were doing it from the same supposide e-mail sent out, LOL.

  19. reshumate says:

For a week they can keep the extra 2 guys.

  20. We really need to hope their are no wr injuries the first few weeks. I suspect this means Seneca going to be getting some snaps at wr.

Glad Forsett made it. I see a bright future…….

  21. So, what did Kirtman do to get cut? I could tell last night that Schmidt did not know a formation. The tell-tale sign of looking over at the other player gives that away. He did that in the Viking game as well. Kirtman probably destined to be picked up by someone else…..

  22. Kirtman (I believe) is a non drafted Free Agent from last year

Scmidt (I believe) is a 4th round pick

  23. Kirtman was a draft pick a few years ago.

  24. 5th rounder in ’06 to be exact…

His ceiling is not nearly as high as Schmitt’s. Not saying Schmitt is going to go to the Pro Bowl all the time but he is going to develop into the better player.

  25. hawk9680 says:

Yes Kirtman was a 5th round pick as was Owen Schmitt. The difference is age and I think Owen fits better into their plan. I noticed against Oakland he could catch out of the backfield and turn up field. I really can’t remember the last time I saw Kirtman catch or pound the ball. He was always a Special Team guy. With the limited space we have that’s not going to get you on a roster. This was expected and a good move in my mind. Owen has a lot of potential and heart.

  26. SharkHawk says:

Man… I hope Bumpus sneaks through until tomorrow and gets on the PS.

  27. At least we know Frank can cut and paste from the PI website.

Someone sure looks ignorant — and it isn’t Frank.

  28. nighthawk2 says:

“Comment by Billy Watson @ 16:59 – Saturday, August 30th, 2008 http://seahawksblog.blogspot.com At least we know Frank can cut and paste from the PI website.”

And we know posters here can hype other b.s. websites.
