More from practice

The highlights from Wednesday’s practice, non-Alexander division:

* RB Mo Morris, who suffered a sprained ankle late vs. St. Louis, was able to practice. Holmgren thought Morris might have to sit out the early sessions this week but Morris managed to gut it out.

* The offensive line, at least in the early portion, featured several different combinations. Floyd “Pork Chop” Womack practiced at both guard spots; Chris Gray, who is listed as the team’s backup center, actually took a few snaps at center; and Ray Willis worked in at the right guard spot, too.

* Field goal practice, especially the snaps, drew special attention from Holmgren.

* DE Darryl Tapp continues to wear the red, non-contact jersey but was able to practice.

* With DTs Rocky Bernard and Craig Terrill not practicing, Ellis Wyms worked with the first-team.

  1. Good to see Willis getting some time again. Nice to have the extra body around, especially after showing so much promise.

  2. I noticed Ellis Wyms in the Rams game. It did not seem he was in for very many plays, but when he was in the game he seemed to be in the middle of the action. It seemed like he was a tall player, but I see he is only 6-3, I guess the rest of the lineman are a bunch of short guys (with the exception of Kearney at 6-5).

I’d say that at 6’3″ Wyms is actually a pretty average sized tackle… at least height-wise… now weight he might be considered a little undersized.
