It’s another gameday for the Washington football team. This one carries with it some added significance, both historically and in the context of UW’s season. They’re hoping things go better than they did for the men’s basketball team last night. We have links covering all that and more.

Reports: Howland out at UCLA

Multiple outlets are reporting that UCLA has notified head coach Ben Howland he has been fired.

UPDATE 10 p.m: UCLA has just issued a statement saying, “Contrary to multiple media reports this evening UCLA has not fired men’s basketball coach Ben Howland.”

Problems against UCLA are apparent

Not too deep to look to realize Washington’s problems against UCLA.

The Huskies (17-14, 9-9) committed 19 turnovers and were outscored 29-9 in points off turnovers during a 61-54 loss to the Bruins Saturday morning in Hec Ed. It was a similar effort to the one in Los Angeles.
