QB Vernon Adams transferring from Eastern Washington to Oregon

Vernon Adams is going to play for an elite FBS program, after all.

The record-setting Eastern Washington quarterback announced on Monday that he has indeed decided to transfer to Oregon, which had been recruiting him to leave EWU and replace Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota as the Ducks’ starting quarterback. Adams, who will be a senior, threw for 3,483 yards, 35 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 10 games in 2014, and rushed for 285 yards and six touchdowns. Read more »

Huskies take a step forward in effort, but still fall back

Pressure, transition points, turnovers. These were hallmarks of Huskies teams past. The style brought recruits and put behinds in Hec Ed seats. Oregon is playing it now.

Oregon trapped, pressed, switched defenses and drove into the paint. However, Washington did not wilt against the conference leaders. Saturday was not the mental checkout of the prior two games. The Huskies just didn’t have enough to beat the 16th-ranked Ducks in a game where neither team could stop turning the ball over.
