Chris Petersen excited about first UW signing day

Chris Petersen seemed excited about some of the OKGs (Our Kind of Guys) he has spoken of so often when referring to his first recruiting class at the University of Washington.

Petersen couldn’t hold his extreme excitement for signing Bellevue’s Budda Baker very well. He said Baker is a need in the secondary with the loss of so many players from that position and is looking forward to him seeing immediate playing time. Yesterday’s news is this morning’s links …

— Budda Baker, the star defensive back/athlete from Bellevue, announced on Twitter yesterday that he plans to play for Oregon next season. Add his name alongside Josh Garnett and Myles Jack (and a few others) as local players the Huskies wanted badly but didn’t get (assuming Baker does, indeed, sign with Oregon).

— According to this report from Fox Sports, UW tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins received a second-round grade from the NFL draft advisory committee. Read more »
