Keith Price sends ill-advised text to Arizona linebacker

With the Huskies set to open Pacific-12 Conference play this week against visiting Arizona, UW quarterback Keith Price figured he’d send at text message to his good friend Marquis Flowers, a linebacker for the Wildcats.

“I told him, ‘We got you this week,’” Price said.

Flowers remembered sacking Keith Price in the third quarter of the Wildcats’ 52-17 drubbing of the Huskies last season. He forced Price to fumble on the play and recovered it himself.

Flowers thought he’d remind Price of his place.

Another tight one, another Huskies loss

The names and faces were the same, but this was not the same group that staggered like zombies through losses to Albany, Nevada, Utah and Oregon State. This was the engaged version of Washington trying to sock eighth-ranked Arizona in the mouth.

At the start, the Huskies did. Up 16-5 in boisterous Hec Ed, the Huskies couldn’t have hoped for a better opening. But, again, by the time the final horn sounded, Washington didn’t have enough to beat an elite team. Arizona 57, Washington 53.

Sarkisian on Price: ‘I just want him to believe me’

Washington was steamrolled on the road once again Saturday night, this time losing 52-17 to an Arizona team that had lost three consecutive games.

Afterward, head coach Steve Sarkisian said there were trust issues between him and quarterback Keith Price. They had a long talk at the end of the third quarter when the game was out of hand.

Video: Road trippin’ in Arizona

We shot some video at Autzen Stadium the last road trip, so, figuring most fans don’t get to come to these other stadiums, here’s a look at Arizona Stadium. The streets were pretty quiet on the way in. It was 88 degrees today, but it’s been cooling off and the stadium is already in the shade. Here’s the video:
