Know your enemy: Stanford safety Delano Howell out for Saturday’s game

 

Jon Wilner of the Mercury News reports that starting safety Delano Howell (above) – younger brother of former Husky linebacker Dan Howell - will not play in Saturday’s game because of a hand injury.

Washington coach Steve Sarkisian raved about the hard-hitting Howell and senior Michael Thomas, and what they allow Stanford to do defensively.

Wilner also writes that Stanford’s season begins with Saturday’s game.

Rather, it was the palpable sense that the Cardinal’s season starts now.

After dominating six second-rate opponents, Stanford enters the heart of its schedule with Saturday’s prime-time showdown against No. 22 Washington.

Midseason awards for the Huskies and Pac 12

On Tuesday afternoon, I went on the Ian Furness Show on KJR-AM for a Pac 12 roundtable featuring Furness, co-host Jason Puckett – both WSU alums, UW sideline reporter and night show Elise Woodward and Scout.com’s Brandon Huffman.
