C.J. Wilcox to return for his senior season

The Washington Huskies got some good news on Thursday afternoon when shooting guard C.J. Wilcox announced he would return for his senior season.

Wilcox led the team in scoring last season, averaging 16.8 points per game. He also averaged 4.3 rebounds per game and hit 75 3-point shots. He was named second team All-Pac-12.

Wilcox has been projected as a second round pick by most NBA draft analysts.

The Huskies announced Wilcox’s return late this morning after saying yesterday that Wilcox was in limbo with his decision to enter the NBA Draft or return.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins named one of three finalists for Mackey Award

Austin Seferian-Jenkins was named a finalist for the Mackey Award – given to the nation’s top tight end.

On the season, he has 58 catches for 753 yards and five touchdowns.

Joining Seferian-Jenkins are Stanford senior Zach Ertz and Notre Dame’s Tyler Eifert.

Senior cornerback Desmond Trufant has accepted an invitation to play in the prestigious 2013 Senior Bowl on Jan. 26 in Mobile, Alabama. The game features some of the top seniors in the country, practicing for a week and then playing in front of NFL scouts and GMs from every team in the league.
