John McGrath lays out the finer points of the College Football Playoff in this column.

Adam Jude leads his notebook with the news of Budda Baker earning a starting safety position.

— The UW Daily has a couple of stories — one with some nuts and bolts from Chris Petersen’s press conference, and one about Marcus Peters.

Tim Booth of the AP has this story previewing the Huskies’ season, and this story from Monday.

Stewart Mandel predicts the Huskies will play against Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl. Bold.

Jacob Thorpe of the Spokesman-Review picks Washington to beat Hawaii, 38-17.

Here’s what Hawaii’s starting lineup looks like at the moment.

— The progression of Hawaii quarterback Ikaika Woolsey has been “unbelievable” (though that story is behind a pay wall).
