The watch lists continue to roll out, with the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) announcing its 81-player preseason watch list for the Bronco Nagurski Trophy, which is awarded annually by the FWAA to whom they feel is the nation’s top defensive player.

Washington is one of two teams (Stanford is the other) to land four players on the watch list: OLB Hau’oli Kikaha, CB Marcus Peters, DT Danny Shelton and LB Shaq Thompson.

The Pac-12 led all conferences with 18 players on the Nagurski list.

Shelton was also named to the 64-player Outland Trophy watch list. The FWAA awards the Outland Trophy each season to whom it deems the best lineman — offensive or defensive — in the country.

Kikaha, Shelton and Thompson were also each named to the Bednarik Award watch list, another end-of-season award that seeks to honor the nation’s top defensive player.
