According to a report by the Honolulu Star Advertiser, former Washington defensive tackle Lawrence Lagafuaina plans to transfer to Hawaii and play his fifth and final season for the Warriors.
Most of the story is behind a paywall, though the portion available for free details that Lagafuaina is awaiting acceptance into a master’s program.
Lagafuaina, a native of Aiea, Hawaii, missed most of the 2012 season after tearing his ACL, and missed a game in 2013 after suffering a concussion. He left the team sometime between the end of the 2013 season and the beginning of spring practices, and wasn’t listed on the spring roster. As is becoming common, players who obtain an undergraduate degree are eligible to transfer elsewhere and play immediately without sitting out a year.
Lagafuaina finished his UW career with six tackles and a sack in 23 games.
