Dejounte Murray, the star junior guard from Rainier Beach whom Scout.com ranks among the 100 best players in the 2015 recruiting class, announced today that he plans to play basketball for the Washington Huskies.
It’s a big get for UW and coach Lorenzo Romar, especially considering the other players the Huskies plan to sign in the 2015 class. Murray’s oral commitment gives the Huskies their third in the class, in addition to three-star Rainier Beach point guard David Crisp and four-star forward Marquese Chriss from Pleasant Grove High School in Elk Grove, Calif. Crisp plans to play the 2014-15 season at a prep school. Players in the 2015 recruiting class can sign a national letter of intent as early as November.
Murray chose UW over offers from California, Washington State, Gonzaga and Oregon. He’s listed at 6-foot-5 and 175 pounds, and Scout.com ranks him as the No. 46 prospect in the 2015 recruiting class.
Rivals.com also considers Murray a four-star recruit, and ranks him as the No. 78 prospect in the 2015 class.
