As expected, the Washington Huskies were not invited to the NIT, which means their season is over. UW confirmed that it will not pursue a spot in the College Basketball Invitational.

Two Pac-12 teams were included in the NIT field — California, as a No. 2 seed, and Utah, as a No. 5 seed. Six Pac-12 teams were invited to the NCAA tournament.

Washington finishes the season with a 17-15 record, and misses the postseason for the first time since 2007. The Huskies made three NCAA tournament appearances, two NIT appearance and a CBI appearance from 2008-13. This is only the third time in Lorenzo Romar’s 12-year tenure at UW that the Huskies have failed to reach the postseason. The first was Romar’s first season in 2003.
