So it appears as if Washington has struck back in its ongoing recruiting battle with Boise State, as 3-star defensive end Jaylen Johnson has apparently changed his mind and has instead “committed” to Washington, according to Greg Biggins of Scout.com.

Johnson initially gave his word to Boise State, but becomes the sixth known player to change his mind to UW since Chris Petersen took over as coach.

Earlier Tuesday, Coeur d’Alene tight end Chase Blakley, who had said he would play at UW, changed his mind and said he will instead play for Boise State.

Here’s Johnson’s bio from Scout.com, which ranks him as the No. 43 defensive end prospect in the 2014 class.
