K.J. Carta-Samuels, a 4-star quarterback prospect from San Jose, Calif., wrote on his Twitter page today that he plans to play football for Washington.
Carta-Samuels was one of the highest-rated players being targeted by UW and new coach Chris Petersen. He was also considering Boise State and Vanderbilt, before posting a short while ago that he’d dropped Vanderbilt from consideration. Then he announced his “commitment” to UW.
It seems likely that Carta-Samuels will be the only quarterback taken in the 2014 class. As of right now, he’s the highest-rated player to announce his intention to play for UW — Scout.com ranks him the No. 23 quarterback in the class — though the Huskies are still waiting on Bellevue athlete Budda Baker, who is considered the best player in the Northwest.
Here are some Carta-Samuels highlights.
