Good morning, Auld Lang Syne, etc.

It’s New Year’s Eve, which means it’s time for champagne, party hats and a few hundred variations of the song posted above.

And this year, it also means a bunch of Monday-after-the-season-finally-ends news out of Montlake. Here come some links.

— Here’s our story in today’s newspaper about the official announcement of Chris Petersen’s new staff of assistant coaches (minus a tight ends coach).

— And here’s our short story about Bishop Sankey declaring his intent to enter the NFL draft and forego his senior season at UW.

The Seattle Times on Sankey and UW’s new coaches.

— USC finally, officially, added Justin Wilcox and Marques Tuiasosopo (and Ivan Lewis) to its coaching staff.

Oregon took care of business in the Alamo Bowl last night, beating Texas, 30-7, in Mack Brown’s final game as the Longhorns’ coach.

— Arizona State got blasted by Texas Tech in a surprising 37-23 Holiday Bowl loss.

— Arizona faces Boston College this morning in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl (9:30 a.m., ESPN).

— UCLA plays today against Virginia Tech in the Sun Bowl (11 a.m., CBS).
