Another week begins on Montlake, and it’s a short one for the Washington football team. Oh, and the basketball team played last night. Here are links.

— Our game story from UW’s 88-78 win over Seattle University last night focuses on the frontcourt injuries the Huskies are dealing with.

— Sportspress Northwest: The Huskies were forced to use four guards at times.

— The Everett Herald: Jernard Jarreau’s injury might be the worst for the Huskies yet.

— The UW Daily: Jarreau’s injury marred UW’s victory.

— The Seattle Times: This is how UW’s season could fall apart.

— Oregon State is off to an awful start, as the Beavers lost their season opener to Coppin State, 78-73. At home. Yikes. Coppin isn’t even a state.

— Colorado had its season opener last night, too, and had no problem in beating UT-Martin 91-65.

In football …

— UCLA linebacker (/running back) Myles Jack is a wanted man on both sides of the ball.

— Colorado coach Mike MacIntyre wishes he hadn’t changed the Buffaloes’ practice routine last week.

— Arizona State’s reputation is boosted by its recent success.

Four plays that defined Arizona’s loss to UCLA.

— USC wants a new deal against Stanford.

— Utah’s offensive line is under scrutiny as it prepares for Oregon.

— Oregon has to get bigger and stronger to become a national champion.
