Washington forward Jernard Jarreau left the Huskies’ season opener against Seattle University with a right leg injury fewer than two minutes into the game.
Jarreau stole the ball from Seattle guard Isiah Umipig and drove to the basket, then attempted a layup and crashed to the floor as he landed and began writhing in obvious pain. It was unclear whether Umipig’s defense caused the awkward landing, though Umipig was called for a flagrant foul. No replays were shown in the arena.
Jarreau, a 6-foot-10 forward, could not put weight on the leg as he was helped to the locker room.
The Huskies are already playing without forwards Desmond Simmons (knee) and Perris Blackwell (concussion).
