Finally, the moment you’ve all been waiting for: a 5 p.m. showdown between Washington and Colorado at Husky Stadium.

Your weather forecast for the day: 49 degrees at kickoff with a 40 percent chance of precipitation and 86 percent humidity, according to Weather.com.

And a uniform update: the Huskies will wear their white, patriotic helmets in honor of Veterans Day. Keith Price is pictured above wearing the helmet against Hawaii in 2011.

We’ll be there with live updates. Now, we’re here with links.

— Here’s our game advance that published in today’s paper, along with our game prediction on the blog yesterday.

— The Seattle Times: UW isn’t overlooking Colorado.

— The UW Daily: The Huskies want to”finish.”

— The Huskies offer a glimpse of what Colorado is in for in the Pac-12.

Here’s the AP game preview.

And the rest of the day’s Pac-12 schedule …

USC (6-3, 3-2 in Pac-12) at California (1-8, 0-6), Noon, FOX — Trojans coach Ed Orgeron has his guard up for this mismatch. The Bears want to keep their quarterback upright. Cal players are keeping their heads high.

Arizona State (6-2, 4-1) at Utah (4-4, 1-4), 1 p.m., Pac-12 Networks — ASU’s offensive line has been fortunate to stay healthy all season. Utah is plenty motivated.

Colorado (3-5, 0-5) at Washington (5-3, 2-3), 5 p.m., Pac-12 Networks

UCLA (6-2, 3-2) at Arizona (6-2, 3-2), 7 p.m., ESPN/WatchESPN — This could be a statement game for the Wildcats. UCLA has had its share of struggles in Tucson.

In basketball news (the season started Friday) …

— We’ll start with the most ridiculous score of the night. For some reason, Utah was allowed to play The Evergreen State College last night — yes, that Evergreen State College — and beat them 128-44. Yes, 128-44. And for some reason, the game actually counted for the Utes. Which is patently absurd. Evergreen is an NAIA team. An NAIA Division II team. An NAIA Division II team that, as the Salt Lake Tribune notes, does not have a starter taller than 6-foot-5. What, was Kelso High unavailable?

— Washington State made its regular-season debut last night with a closer-than-necessary 62-56 win over Cal State-Bakersfield.

— Arizona State began its season with an easy, 96-61 win over Maryland-Baltimore County.

— There are some question-marks surrounding Arizona’s season-opening 73-62 win over Cal Poly.

— Oregon held off Georgetown, 82-75, at a U.S. Army base in South Korea.

— USC dropped its season-opener to Utah State, 78-65.

— Colorado fell to Baylor, 72-60, in its season-opener in Dallas.

— California coasted past Coppin State, 83-64, in its opener.

— Stanford opened its season with a 72-68 home win over Bucknell.

— UCLA won in Steve Alford’s debut as coach, 72-67, at home over Drexel.

  1. Onewoodwhacker says:

I don’t “expect” we will see Colorado throw in the towel, even late in the 4th Qtr. Much like Sark had to do in 2009, MacIntyre is trying to change the “mental” culture of that program.

Coach Mac: “…I don’t think they bought into what happened at the end of the year. They were walking dead…”

Coach Sark, December 2008: “…This is a better football team than 0-12, and I think you all would agree with that,”…“Are they a 12-0 team yet? I don’t know, but I do know they are better than 0-12. We just need to change the mind-set and the culture here right off…” http://seattletimes.com/html/huskies/2008484569_uwfb09.html

In 2009, Sark and the boys played a MUCH better LSU team with more heart and passion than we had seen in 5 years and they played to the LAST snap. I think we should expect to see the same effort from Colorado as this is their version of the Huskies 2009 season. Doesn’t mean we aren’t a better team right now…just advising everyone not expect Colorado to lay down.
