We’ll be there with live updates. Now, we’re here with links.
— The Seattle Times: UW isn’t overlooking Colorado.
— The UW Daily: The Huskies want to”finish.”
— The Huskies offer a glimpse of what Colorado is in for in the Pac-12.
And the rest of the day’s Pac-12 schedule …
USC (6-3, 3-2 in Pac-12) at California (1-8, 0-6), Noon, FOX — Trojans coach Ed Orgeron has his guard up for this mismatch. The Bears want to keep their quarterback upright. Cal players are keeping their heads high.
Colorado (3-5, 0-5) at Washington (5-3, 2-3), 5 p.m., Pac-12 Networks
In basketball news (the season started Friday) …
— We’ll start with the most ridiculous score of the night. For some reason, Utah was allowed to play The Evergreen State College last night — yes, that Evergreen State College — and beat them 128-44. Yes, 128-44. And for some reason, the game actually counted for the Utes. Which is patently absurd. Evergreen is an NAIA team. An NAIA Division II team. An NAIA Division II team that, as the Salt Lake Tribune notes, does not have a starter taller than 6-foot-5. What, was Kelso High unavailable?
— Washington State made its regular-season debut last night with a closer-than-necessary 62-56 win over Cal State-Bakersfield.
— Arizona State began its season with an easy, 96-61 win over Maryland-Baltimore County.
— There are some question-marks surrounding Arizona’s season-opening 73-62 win over Cal Poly.
— Oregon held off Georgetown, 82-75, at a U.S. Army base in South Korea.
— USC dropped its season-opener to Utah State, 78-65.
— Colorado fell to Baylor, 72-60, in its season-opener in Dallas.
— California coasted past Coppin State, 83-64, in its opener.
— Stanford opened its season with a 72-68 home win over Bucknell.
