So much for Desmond Simmons playing Sunday against Seattle University. Washington coach Lorenzo Romar said after the Huskies’ 95-65 exhibition victory over Central Washington that Simmons, who didn’t play, will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his knee and will be out until mid-to-late December.

It’s not the first time Simmons has had knee surgery. He underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee prior to his first season at UW. He redshirted that year.

If he returns on the timetable Romar gave, Simmons should be back in time for Pac-12 play.
