A few quick notes, as well, from Romar’s media availability …

— Romar said C.J. Wilcox is 100 percent, and is practicing without limitation. The only player who is limited at all by injury is walk-on Quinn Sterling.

— The new hand-checking rule — as well as an alteration to the block-charge call that greatly favors the offense — has been a bit of an issue for the Huskies so far. Romar said it’s going to take some getting used to, and that he’s glad that officials have attended practices so they can tell players what they’re doing wrong. We’ll write much more about this subject at a later date.

— Romar had heavy praise for freshman guard Nigel Williams-Goss, whom he said makes working hard look “cool.”

— Senior forward Perris Blackwell and Fresno State transfer Robert Upshaw — who is not eligible to play this season — have had some entertaining battles during practice, Romar said.
