Washington coach Steve Sarkisian appeared as a guest on the Dave “Softy” Mahler show on KJR 950 AM this afternoon, and said senior quarterback Keith Price will indeed start against California tomorrow.

Sarkisian had said on Thursday that he’d be surprised if Price didn’t play, but didn’t state explicitly that he would start. He did today, though.

Price also said offensive guard Dexter Charles, who missed last week’s game against Arizona State with a shoulder injury, will again be out against California. Erik Kohler started in his place last week.

In other quarterback news, California coach Sonny Dykes announced in a statement Friday that freshman Jared Goff will remain the team’s starter. There was a competition this week between Goff and backup Zach Kline — the second time this season that’s happened — but Goff apparently hung onto the job.
