Washington coach Steve Sarkisian said Tuesday during his weekly segment on the Pac-12 coaches’ teleconference that he doesn’t yet know whether quarterback Keith Price will be able to play Saturday against California.
Sarkisian said the same yesterday. He plans to continue evaluating Price throughout the week, and will make a decision based off what he sees. Only the first 20 minutes of practice are open to reporters, but during that time Tuesday, I didn’t see Price make any throws during the brief warm-up period we were able to watch.
Sarkisian said he’s “hopeful Keith can go,” but “that decision has yet to be made.”
He again reiterated that UW is “fortunate we’ve recruited that position well,” and named Cyler Miles, Jeff Lindquist and Troy Williams as examples of depth behind Price. Miles, of course, would make his first career start Saturday if Price isn’t healthy enough to play.
