As announced by Mason Kelley on Washington coach Steve Sarkisian’s Tumblr page, the Huskies will, as many speculated, debut their new black helmets (as seen the above photo) during Saturday’s game against Oregon.

The game is being promoted as a blackout — the first I can remember that kicks off at 1 p.m. — and as part of the week’s festivities, the school will hold a “blackout rally” Thursday night at 7:15 in Hec Edmundson Pavilion. Students will be granted free admission with their UW IDs, and free food will be distributed along with a limited supply of blackout t-shirts.

Also, any student who attends Friday’s volleyball match will receive a “VIP” wristband that will provide priority access for food and beverages during Saturday’s College GameDay broadcast.
