Starting middle linebacker John Timu said he will be ready to start Saturday in the Pac-12 opener against Arizona.
Timu said he’s been receiving daily treatment on his bruised shoulder and has his full range of motion back. He said the trick now is to be ready for contact.
Timu said he hurt the shoulder in the first quarter against Illinois, he thinks when he made a hit on the sideline. After that, it began to go numb. He thought he could just play through it, but they had to shut him down.
He also said even if last week was a championship game, he might not have been able to play. He couldn’t lift his arm at one point.
