With the Huskies set to open Pacific-12 Conference play this week against visiting Arizona, UW quarterback Keith Price figured he’d send at text message to his good friend Marquis Flowers, a linebacker for the Wildcats.
“I told him, ‘We got you this week,’” Price said.
Flowers remembered sacking Keith Price in the third quarter of the Wildcats’ 52-17 drubbing of the Huskies last season. He forced Price to fumble on the play and recovered it himself.
Flowers thought he’d remind Price of his place.
“He sent me back a picture making me fumble,” Price said laughing. “I thought it was pretty funny.”
Price has no fumbles this year and his only turnover came on an interception the first play of the season against visiting Boise State. He threw 13 interceptions last year.
Price’s efficiency and ability to play mistake-free should be key to how the Huskies fare against Arizona this time around.
