Though it’s a bye week for the Huskies, a busy weekend is ahead for Steve Sarkisian who will be recruiting and …. announcing?

Quick hits:

> Sarkisian will head to southern California today to do some recruiting. He’d be recruiting during this bye week regardless, but sees this as bit of an opportunity to strike while the iron is hot after Saturday’s win.

> OL Erik Kohler is still in a walking boot, but also dressed in pads at practice. Sarkisian said they are “trying to get him going” and that he could be a nice addition to the offensive line. He didn’t give a timetable for a return.

> If you want to watch Washington’s next opponent, Illinois, it plays Cincinnati on Saturday at 9 a.m. on ESPN2.

> Sarkisian was asked about defenses faking injury to slow down up-tempo offenses and said Washington will not do that because he’s a big believer in the “football Gods” and not tempting them. He said there’s a right way to do things, which is what they try to do.
