It appears hope for and interest in the Washington football team is going up along with the new walls at renovated Husky Stadium.

Washington says it has sold 45,056 non-student season tickets for this year.

For comparison sake, we’ll throw out last year since the games were at CenturyLink Field (41,139 season tickets were sold). Here’s a look at prior years under Steve Sarkisian (2009-11) and Tyrone Willingham (2006-08) at Husky Stadium:

2011 — 42,231
2010 — 44,593
2009 — 40,600
2008 — 43,497
2007 — 43,516
2006 — 42,598

Obviously, the new stadium is influencing sales.

Washington isn’t the only school showing an uptick. Stanford says it has set a record by selling almost 33,000 season tickets.
