A couple days after reports that Washington received a verbal commitment from Tristan Etienne, a 6-10, 210 forward from British Columbia, another player had given a verbal commitment to the Huskies.
I am truly blessed to say that I will be attending the University of Washington to play basketball after this year. All glory to God.— BigYaaddddyD (@donavendorsey24) July 9, 2013
Scout rates Timberline’s Dorsey as a 3-star SF. He’s 6-6, 185 and part of the Class of 2014.
Dorsey and Etienne are the first two verbal commitments for Washington’s 2014 class. Here’s a story on Dorsey from last season.
Dorsey also had an offer from Gonzaga.
UPDATE: Just talked with Dorsey. A few highlights of what he said:
> Dorsey also called Gonzaga coach Mark Few today to tell him he was committing to Washington.
> Dorsey says he is up to 6-foot-7, and may still be growing as he heads into his senior year.
> Dorsey is unsure if he will sign his paperwork in the fall or the spring period. So, as always, a verbal is just that.
> Dorsey described himself as “versatile” and said he can play the 1-3. He also said he going to be working to become a better defender this next season.
