UCLA coach Ben Howland said that Travis Wear, who has a bum ankle, will start Saturday morning for the Bruins. He also said that UCLA sat down after practice Friday in Hec Ed and watched the entire Washington State game, during which it was blown out for much of the night in a stunning 73-61 loss Wedneday.

As for Washington, Lorenzo Romar said everyone is healthy and that he doesn’t expect to see the version of the Bruins that showed up in Pullman. Two keys to the game from Romar: Fewer turnovers and better defensive rebounding. You can hear everything he had to say Friday in the video above.

It will be senior “night” at Washington, with the seniors — Scott Suggs, Aziz N’Diaye and Abdul Gaddy — being honored at 10:45 a.m. prior to the oddball 11 a.m. tip-off time. We’ll have a gamethread up and running about 10:30.

Also, here’s our story from today’s paper on the challenge Romar faced this year when he lost his mom during the losing streak midway through Pac-12 play.
