Washington head coach Steve Sarkisian said Saturday that sophomore running back Dezden Petty will transfer.
Petty carried 29 times for 99 yards last season in backup running back roll. He’s caught behind a lot of folks at running back this season. Assuming Jesse Callier comes back in the fall to join No. 1 back Bishop Sankey, Petty would be fighting for carries with Erich Wilson, Kendyl Taylor, Ryan McDaniel, Dwayne Washington, Psalm Wooching and even Deontae Cooper, if Cooper is back healthy.
Appears to be a simple numbers game that Petty is caught in.
