What to say after that?
Washington played excellent the first 10 minutes of the first half. It got so bad so fast in the second half, Washington head coach Lorenzo Romar was left saying the team “in the second half, we played with a lack of pride” on the way to a 70-52 blowout loss at Arizona.
Welcome to McKale Center for a tip the retired community here in Arizona can’t be happy about. We’re scheduled to get going at 9:10 p.m. local time because the game being played on ESPN prior to Washington/Arizona is going to push us back a bit. When you’re already tipping at 9 p.m., what’s 10 more minutes, eh?

We are about three weeks away from the Pac-12 Tournament, which tips off at noon on March 13 in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand. The tournament, at this point, appears to be Washington’s only long-distance hope to make the NCAA Tournament.

Saturday night was another evening of unpredictable basketball in the conference. Arizona State went into Colorado and won on a layup at the buzzer. Washington State led most of the night against Oregon before it fell in overtime. UCLA slowed Stanford.
No, Saturday night was not a thrill a minute in Hec Ed. A bumbling first half by both teams would have made Bill Walton bellow about the atrocities taking place. But, in the end, it was a 72-62 Washington victory. The Huskies will take it.
Terrence Ross went “old school” with a Vince Carter jersey, jumped over a kid and even made all UW fans cringe by getting a hand from brief Washington commit Terrence Jones, the duo finally teamed, on the way to a dunk contest win Saturday night. Highlights above.
