Oregon reachs top 10, joins Arizona in newest AP poll

Oregon is up to No. 10 in the Associated Press rankings and Arizona is down to No. 8. UCLA and Arizona State also received votes, ostensibly making them No. 29 and 30 in the country. Colorado State, which thumped Washington during non-conference play, also received a vote. Full top 25 on the jump:

Huskies take a step forward in effort, but still fall back

Pressure, transition points, turnovers. These were hallmarks of Huskies teams past. The style brought recruits and put behinds in Hec Ed seats. Oregon is playing it now.

Oregon trapped, pressed, switched defenses and drove into the paint. However, Washington did not wilt against the conference leaders. Saturday was not the mental checkout of the prior two games. The Huskies just didn’t have enough to beat the 16th-ranked Ducks in a game where neither team could stop turning the ball over.

Welcome to pristine Matthew Knight Arena. A beautiful arena by any measure. Not so sure about the floor, however.
