Washington again going with Abdul Gaddy, Andrew Andrews, C.J. Wilcox, Jernard Jerreau and Aziz N’Diaye as starters. Scott Suggs is out of the walking boot and in his uniform, but is very unlikely to play tonight.
> Fullerton committed two stunning fouls at the end of the game and Wilcox hit a pair of free throws with 3.6 seconds left to help Washington somehow win 74-72. Abdul Gaddy came out of the game and limped to the bench with about five minutes left in the second half. He went to the back and did not return to the bench. We’ll update when we can.
> Washington has finally pulled into the lead. N’Diaye’s jam put it in fron 67-65 with 2:39 left. Washington will have the ball out of the under-4 timeout.
> Washington pulled within one, 55-54, before Fullerton came up with two hoops to push back in front 59-54 with 9:39 to go. Washington appears to have gone back to its motion offense for a spell here in the second half.
> Signs of life. N’Diaye going to the line coming out of the under-12 timeout with Wahsington down 55-51. Gaddy looks like he banged knees.
> Seeley is a transfer from Cal. He just hit another tough hoop, but has picked up his third foul with 16:11 remaining. Washington needs to find a way to go at him. He’s guarding Wilcox.
> Simmons has tied his career-high with 12 rebounds.
> Seeley has 20 and is killing Washington. He’s 8 for 11. Maybe putting Andrews on him will slow him down.
> Aziz N’Diaye left the first half early and went to the back with a towel pressed up against his right eye. He’s warming up for the second half with a big band-aid above his right eye.
> Halftime. Fullerton leads 43-29. Second-most points allowed in a half by Washington this season (CSU had 45 in 2nd half). Wilcox 3-for-14. Gaddy and Andrews are a combined 1-for-10. Washington is shooting 30 percent at the half. Fullerton pressured the ball very high throughout the half, not allowing Washington to get into its offense. Fullerton is getting away with a lot of bumping of ball-handlers, too. Washington is 9-for-30 as a team, with Wilcox taking almost half those shots. The Huskies played 2-3 zone defense for almost the entire half, allowed 10 offensive rebounds and is being out-rebounded — again — 25-18.
> Under-4 timeout and Washington is still far behind. Fullerton leads 36-23 with 3:46 to go. The only positive thus far for Washington has been Simmons. He has eight rebounds already. Wilcox can’t find it from anywhere on the floor. He’s 3-for-13 and has misses 3-pointers, midrange shots and shots in the lane. Many have been open looks.
> Fullerton pressuring the ball very high. Washington should be able to exploit it with backdoor cuts, but is having problems handling the ball pressure right now.
> Under-12 timeout. Fullerton up 25-18. Simmons has really impacted the game. N’Diaye just picked up his second foul with 10:48 to go.
> Under-16 timeout. Fullerton leads 14-4 and its speed is giving Washington trouble. The Titans also already have three offensive rebounds. The guess is Washington started in zone because Fullerton is quicker, but Washington still hasn’t figured out how to keep up, at this point.
> It’s 11-2, Washington is playing terrible and Romar calls timeout. Fullerton trapping the initial pass out top. Huskies can’t deal with it.
> Washington 1-for-4 with two turnovers and down 6-2 to start.
> Twelve of the 16 players on Fullerton’s roster are transfers.
