Former Washington point guard Tony Wroten was sent to the D League on Tuesday. He’s expected to join the Reno Bighorns today and be available to play Friday night versus the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Wroten, who left Washington following his freshman season when he was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, was second on the team in scoring and set the school record for turnovers, was drafted 25th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizzlies (10-2) have a veteran group and the NBA’s best record.

During the NBA’s Summer League, Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins said the D League was a possible destination for Wroten. Wroten recently came back to Seattle following a death in his family. He heads to Reno from Seattle.

Wroten appeared in three games for Memphis this season, averaging 2.7 minutes.

All Reno games are available free online at NBADleague.com.
