Keith Price was a steady 18 for 30 Saturday night to help Washington snap its three-game losing streak with another upset win against a top-10 opponent.
Price mentioned postgame that the Huskies were motivated by a column in The Oregonian that called them soft and not resilient.
“Coach Sark kind of put up an article, I’m not sure who wrote it, man, he was talking a lot of foolishness,” Price said. “We knew that our manhood was being tested. We knew it was about having pride and kind of changing what people thought about our team.”
There were two distinct plays Saturday that showed Price is coming out of his funk. The first was a 29-yard pass to Kasen Williams down the left sideline. The second was a third-down completion to Williams on the right sideline on 3rd-and-7 during the final drive. The coverage in each case was solid by Oregon State, but Price went to Williams anyway. He wouldn’t have done that the past three weeks.
