The Washington Huskies plan to add 5-9 junior guard Dion Overstreet as a walk-on this season. Overstreet played last year at Edmonds Community College and averaged 13.9 points per game.
He had one big game, scoring 42 points when he made seven 3-pointers, but shot the ball poorly for much of the season. Overstreet finished the year shooting 35 percent from the field and 32 percent from behind the 3-point line.
You can find Overstreet’s game log from last season here.
Overstreet has an interesting background. He started acting at seven years old and has appeared in commercials for AT&T, Burger King and McDonald’s. When he was 10, he made appearances on “The Bernie Mac Show”, “Moesha” and “Malcolm in The Middle.”
Overstreet is from Venice, Calif., and graduated from Venice High School in 2008.
