Let’s take a quick break from football, which has been consuming my days and nights for the last few weeks to throw out a few hoops links.

The biggest news is that prized UCLA recruit Shabazz Muhammad will not travel with the team to China for a summer exhibition. The prized recruit of the No. 2 recruiting class in the country has yet to be cleared by the NCAA.

From the LA Times exclusive story

The NCAA is looking into whether Muhammad received improper benefits for unofficial trips to schools from Benjamin Lincoln, the brother of an assistant coach at Muhammad’s high school, Las Vegas Bishop Gorman, CBSsports.com reported in February.

The NCAA is also investigating whether Muhammad received financial help from Ken Kavanagh, a New York financial planner who helped fund the Las Vegas-based Dream Vision Foundation summer team on which Muhammad played. Kavanagh has said he is a longtime friend of the family.

And since the investigation is pending, Muhammad stays home.

This is from a while back, but thought I’d post it again …. Andy Katz looks at the Huskies upcoming exhibition trip to Spain, France and Senegal. It also includes  list of all the other teams going overseas. There’s a lot, including 7 Pac-12 teams.

Elsewhere, Brock Motum scored 41 points for WSU, but they lost their final game of their Australian exhibition. The Cougs went 2-3 on the trip.  Here’s some more on Motum.

Arizona got a four-star commit
