KJR, the home of UW football, is still broadcasting during practice with Mike Gastineau and Elise Woodward providing plenty of great coverage. Austin Seferian-Jenkins talked with them and you can hear the maturity and confidence in the way he speaks. You can see the growth even from football to basketball last year, and it’s even more evident this season.

Hau’oli Jamora also talked with them on Tuesday.

Here’s my story from today’s paper talking about Josh Shirley.

North Division

Cal: Cornerback Stephen McClure faces a long road back from knee surgery. Jeff Faraudo also has some notes on the freshmen.

Oregon: Rob Moseley looks at the quarterback battle between Marcus Mariota and Bryan Bennett. Freshman Bralon Addison is making a name for himself, even if his teammates can’t remember it. Here’s some video of Chipper

Oregon State: Defensive coordinator Mark Banker wants to see his defense rebound after two tough years. Here’s a practice report.

Stanford: The Cardinal is expecting big things from receiver Ty Montgomery.

Washington State: Chrisitan Caple has this story on transfer linebacker Justin Sagote, who will likely play plenty.  CougCenter had this practice report

South Division

Arizona: Terrence Miller is back after suffering a lacerated liver after an awkward fall

ASU: Junior Onyeali is learning from the discipline following past mistakes. Here’s Tuesday’s practice report

Colorado: Former linemen turned tight end Nick Kasa is hoping to have an impact this season. … Malcolm Creer showed he is a consummate teammate. An incident with an airsoft gun led to one player leaving the team and two others earning suspensions.

UCLA: Jim Mora has an inkling of who he wants his quarterback to be. Brett Hundley impressed Jim Mora. For UCLA seniors this is their third head coach. Here’s video of Mora postpractice.

USC: Robert Woods is trying to to keep his ankle healthy, but he thinks it’s 100 percent. Silas Redd’s presence is bringing out the best in the other tailbacks

Utah: Running back John White is still competing as if he’s trying to win the starting job that he had all of last season. Here’s a notebook talking about the Utes grinding it out.
