Pac 12 picks part 2: The money-making sequel

Remember how I spent the first part of yesterday’s picks bragging about my gambling prowess? Well, yesterday wasn’t a great day against the spread. So obviously, I should be a little more humble today. WRONG!

Stick with me, I know the way to navigate this road to riches. This only a little speed bump on the path to excess and success. And if you don’t believe me, trust my grandma’s rules of gambling. This applies to rule No. 28, which states: If you lose all your money, don’t be afraid to take money from

Mid-morning kickoff: Different debuts for Brett Hundley and Mike Leach

Well, the first night of college football in the Pac-12 was far from dull. Brett Hundley took his very first snap of his career for UCLA and went 72 yards for a touchdown in a Bruins win over Rice. Meanwhile, new Washington State head coach Mike Leach endured a sloppy and touchdown-less performance from his team in a loss 30-6 loss to a very good BYU team.

Let’s get to it ….

BYU 30, Washington State 6

Yes, WSU looked sloppy. Way too many penalties and two bad interceptions from Jeff Tuel hurt them. But BYU is a very

Yep, the Pac-12 picks are back for another year. And though I will be leaving the Husky beat as a full-time writer in the coming weeks. I’m still going to do the picks. Why? Well, it’s a great way for me to vent and have some fun and mock people … which is what I usually do on Twitter every day. But this forum allows me more than 140 characters.

I went 57-23 in games straight up and 49-30-1 against the spread. Yeah, that’s 19 games over .500 against the

On if there are any limitations on guys coming off injuries such as Erik Kohler and Colin Tanigawa: “No, we will watch them closely but we are going in full go with all of our guys.”

On being able to use Chris Polk to run the clock down last year and hold a lead and where he thinks that will come from this year
: “That’s an interesting question and it’s part of the

Know your enemy: Some San Diego State reading and video

Like the Huskies, the Aztecs have some questions about their special teams.

Cornerback Leon McFadden played high school ball with Keith Price and Will Shamburger. And he’s the team’s best cover corner.  I would imagine he will spend some time matched up on Kasen Williams.

Here’s some highlights

And here’s a pretty extensive breakdown of SDSU

Gaddy’s beyond halfcourt shot helps Huskies pull off win

From the press release …

ZARAGOZA, Spain – Shawn Kemp hit a six-foot jump hook as the shot clock was expiring with 20 seconds left in overtime to cap a furious rally and push Washington to a 74-73 win over Zaragoza at Pricipe Felipe Pavilion on Wednesday .

The Huskies improved to 2-0 in their 16-day foreign tour, but needed a prayer to be answered to get that second win.

Abdul Gaddy took an inbound pass after a made free throw put the Huskies down 66-63 with two seconds remaining. He dribbled twice
