The NBA draft combine was over the weekend. I watched about the point guard workouts, where Tony Wroten looked strong and physical in certain drills, but struggled in the shooting drills.

You can watch the replays of the combine HERE (If you have ESPN3 capable internet provider).

There was some debate about Wroten’s shooting skills. One analyst asked if Wroten’s jumpshot “is broke beyond repair?” I think it can be repaired when some of the fundamental flaws are taken care of. It’s a matter if teams believe the other aspects – size, speed, strength, vision – are enough to make them want with a first-round pick.

I didn’t see all of Terrence Ross’ workouts. But the parts I did see, he looked good. This doesn’t surprise me.

According to Sam Amick of SI, Ross helped himself by participating in the combine while other shooting guards chose not to.

Washington’s Ross has serious sleeper potential, and all of it — the range, quickness and athleticism — is there for teams to see in this process. The 6-7, 197-pound guard is taking the nothing-to-hide approach to promoting himself. He said he has already worked out with the Timberwolves, Celtics, Nuggets and Hornets, and has sessions scheduled with the Raptors, 76ers, Suns and Trail Blazers. He averaged 16.4 points and 6.4 rebounds for the Huskies last season while playing alongside a point guard in fellow draft prospect Tony Wroten who had more turnovers (132) than assists (130).

Amick’s next mock draft doesn’t come out till Wednesday.

ESPN’s Chad Ford also mentioned Ross’ performance as well.

Washington’s Terrence Ross also received praise. He shot the ball really well, and because all the other top shooting guards decided to skip the event, it made Ross pop even more.

Ford’s latest mock draft has Ross going 15th to the Sixers and Wroten going 23rd to the Hawks.

NBA draft express has its latest mock draft up and has Ross dropping to 21st and going to the T’Wolves and Wroten dropping to 30th and going to the Warriors.
