Practice notes

OLB Jamaal Kearse was not at practice today. He is fighting the flu bug.

S Sean Parker was limited with a groin strain. He participated in a few drills early, but no team stuff

RB Jesse Callier rolled his ankle and did not participate in any team drills.

CB Ken Egu was not in pads today.

With Callier out, Bishop Sankey took the bulk of the carries with the first team offense. Sankey looked outstanding. He had two long runs in 11-on-11, and also had two 40-yard touchdown catches. He caught swing passes from Keith Price and just exploded past defenders and made a few moves to get to the endzone.

Fellow running back Dezden Petty also had a good day. The big tailback made a nice-one handed, juggling catch for about a 25-yard TD on a pass from Derrick Brown in the team period. Petty also showed the ability to break some tackles during a 11-on-11 short-yardage period that was full contact. He could be an interesting player in those situations. Petty also got some work in at fullback today as well.

Cody Bruns, who is battling a sore ankle, made a nice catch on an out route. Bruns took the pass from Keith Price and was able to even get away from a defender for a near touchdown.

Derrick Brown was much better on Wednesday. He again looked strong on passes over the middle. His best throw of the day came on a post pattern to William Chandler, who made a nice catch for a 40-yard TD passes

No changes to the first-team offensive and defensive lines.
